Decree of the Jewish council regarding the office of the marshal of the Greater Poland land

The tribunal operating at the Jewish Council in Jarosław resolved the dispute between the Krotoszyn community and the Greater Poland land elders. The Crown elders decided that the office of the marshal should be taken over from the community of Leszno by the Krotoszyn community. In order to settle the dispute, it was decided that a Krotoszyn elder should take the office of the land marshal from 15 December 1731 and at the latest from 1 January 1732. Krotoszyn elders, under the penalty of losing the office of the marshal, were obliged to come for a session of the land in the current month and settle financial arrears. The marshal’s term of office was set to be three years. Moszek Rabinowicz from Krotoszyn was recommended to take office as the marshal of the Greater Poland region when the term of office for the Krotoszyn community was due, as for seven years in a row he had been a land elder of Greater Poland. The syndic Dawid, a Krotoszyn elder and a former land elder, was excluded from the structures of the land and forbidden to hold any functions or offices because of the abuses that he had committed.
