Privilege of Treasurer Karol Sedlnicki for the office of the general scribe of the Bełz voivodeship and the Chełm land

Accepting the settlement concluded by Crown elders in Radom, Grand Crown Treasurer Karol Odrowąż Sedlnicki appoints to the office of general scribe (trustee) of the Bełz voivodeship and the Chełm land Wulf Pietruszka, a Hrubieszów Jew and the Witków rabbi, representing the Bełz voivodeship. After the death of the current scribe, Heszel of Chełm, his function was to be performed alternately with Dawid, a Zamość Jew. The scribe’s term of office began with the Jewish congress in Konstantynów. Dawid of Zamość, delegated by Jews from the Zamość Entailed Estate, was to hold the office after Wulf Pietruszka.
