Universal of Treasurer Karol Odrowąż Sedlnicki on improving the execution of the treasury assignation

Grand Crown Treasurer Karol Józef Odrowąż Sedlnicki forbids elders of the Crown’s kahals entitled to prepare allocations to include insolvent and unknown towns in the allocations, and he sets the minimum limit for the required tax from each of these towns to 30 zlotys. Deputies of the Crown army are obliged
to collect money based on assignations issued by the quarter treasury, which specifies the Jewish towns to which the deputies should go. If collecting the tax in a town was impossible or there were no Jews there, the deputies could request the amount from general trustees and land elders.
