Excerpt from the Senate resolution regarding Jewish poll tax
Excerpt from the record of the castle court in Warsaw dated 29th April 1695, containing an excerpt from a Senate session that took place in Warsaw between 18th and 20th of April 1695. The consideration of the complaint the Crown Jews made to the Senate is postponed. Meanwhile, the Grand Treasurer is to ensure equal distribution of the Jewish poll tax among the townships. In case the townships do not pay the holder of the Treasury assignations, the payment is not to be demanded from the main qahal, instead the assignations are to be passed on to Crown Treasury or the Instigator Regni (Crown prosecutor) for execution, so that charges can be brought against the townships to the Crown Tribunal.
