Letter by the Crown Treasurer to the elders of the county of Lublin concerning the inflated poll tax for the Jews from Łęczna
In connection with the complaint by Seweryn Józef Rzewuski, Great Referendary of the Crown, Jan Ansgary Czapski, Great Crown Treasurer, admonishes the county elders of Lublin [voivodship] for not having taken into account the poverty and poor financial condition of the Jews from Łęczna and excessively burdening them with the poll tax. He orders them to lower this tax the following year.
