Debenture of Jewish Crown elders

A pledge by Zachariasz Mendel (Kantorowicz), the speaker and other elders of the Four Land’s Assembly to pay the sum due to Christoph Bressler for trading in etrogim, lulavim, and hadasim imported from Italy. Based on the law from Jan. 3, 1693, they were to pay 15,000 talers, of which 7,000 are to be paid by named Silesian Jews. The remaining 8,000 are to be paid annually in 1,000 thalers installments during the fair, while Bressler cedes to the elders 1,200 thalers, including the 500 which he was to receive from Hertz Abraham of Zültz, and 700 according to a pledge by the elders of Sept. 17, 1700.
