Hieronim Augustyn Lubomirski, the Grand Treasurer of the Crown, referring to the tariff established by the elders, which included the overdue installments of the Jewish poll tax from the years 1691 to 1692, orders the poviat Jews from Kalisz and Poznań to pay 3860 zł for the cavalry unit of the Castellan of Bełz [Aleksander Michał Łaszcz]. As for the August installment for the year 1699 of 4110 zł and 26 gr for the cavalry unit of the Castellan of Kiev [Mikołaj Korwin-Kossakowski], he obliges the land Jews from Wielkopolska to pay it, exempting the Jews from Leszno and Sępólno from this payment. In the case of non-payment of these sums, the Treasurer allows the cavalry units to seal the synagogues, sequester the Jewish goods and imprison the debtors. Military deputies, Józef Prawęcki and Jakub Biergułowicz, on the 8th January, acknowledge the receipt of 306 zł from 1700 Kalisz Jews and declare that for the remaining sum they received receipts from the land elders sent to them from the regional assembly in Toruń.
