Declaration on behalf of the Chełm-Bełz land elders against Moszek Majorowicz and Józef Izrael regarding the unlawful allocation

Józef Chaimowicz, a Jew from Hrubieszów and marshal of the Bełz voivodeship, and Wulf Nochimowicz, the Witków rabbi and a land elder of Chełm, declare on behalf of the Chełm-Bełz land elders against Moszek Majorowicz and Józef Izrael, the rabbi of Luboml and Chełm Jew, for ignoring the principle of alternation, on the basis of which the land marshal’s duties should now be performed by a Hrubieszów elder. Moreover, without the knowledge of the appropriate marshal, Majorowicz and Józef Izrael had unlawfully made the poll tax allocation. The permission to do so, supposedly granted to them by previous land elders, is considered to be invalid by the current elders.
