Assurance by the land elders of Lublin concerning the poll tax of the Jews from Piaski and Biskupice

Land elders of the province of Lublin: Józef Sandrowicz, a rabbi from Opole and Jakub Abramowicz, a rabbi from Zwoleń, taking into consideration the destruction caused by the fire and the impoverishment of the community in Piaski declared that, at least for a period of four years, they will not collect from that community more than 400 zł of poll tax, and from its particular in Biskupice no more than 100 zł. The elders of Piaski were obliged to send the letter to Opole, expressing consent to the new, reduced tax rate specified in the tariff given by the land elders. The parties reached the settlement before the Radom tribunal on the 30th May 1747
