Declaration of the Ruthenian land elders against Crown elders regarding inflated debts of the land
Ruthenian land elders declare against the marshal general and Crown elders, who did not comply with the decree of the Radom tribunal of 1740 which suspended the repayment of Jewish debts and commissions for five years. In addition, they did not take into account the recommendations of the Crown treasurer’s commissioners from the Jarosław council in 1739, ordering the repayment of Jewish debts in three installments for 1740-1742. They considered the sum assigned for them to pay during the council in Tyszowce (1742) excessive. They declare that they may pay only the Jewish poll tax for 1743 allocated to the Ruthenian land.
