Marek Józefowicz, land scribe, protested against the land elders of Kalisz, Szymon and Szmajer Gielow, who did not want to return the debt of 20,000 zlotys to him. In addition, the land elders of Kalisz sought to remove him from the office of the scribe, forced him to sign for the receipt of the debt, attacked his house, and expelled his family. In an earlier statement, Marek Józefowicz said that all receipts and oaths in the case with the Jews from Kalisz and Leszno who wanted to remove him from the office of the scribe and refused to pay back the debt were made under duress and were therefore invalid by law.
