Resolution of Crown elders during the Jewish council on the claims between Leszno Jews and Jews of Greater Poland
Crown elders, in accordance with the Crown treasurer’s consent, settled the mutual claims of the Leszno Jews and the Greater Poland land elders. The Leszno Jews were to pay 1/10 of the land’s expenses for the previous 4 years. In the case of overdue land receivables from Jews living in minor towns, they ordered that Leszno Jews pay 3,000 zlotys and 1,600 zlotys for the assignation of the Inowrocław voivode, and 1,500 zlotys paid by Leszno Jews were credited for their debts from nobility. In addition, they freed the Leszno Jews from the claims of the land, concerning 7,000 zlotys of land debt on the basis of Barnecki’s assignation, while in the case of other debts from nobility they ordered the Leszno Jews to repay them according to the specified proportion.
