Protestation of the Jews from Sambor against the land elders of Przemyśl

In the Przemyśl castle court office, Berko Jakubowicz and Moszko Herszowicz, the elders of the Jews in Sambor, and Hejsyk Lewkowicz, a resident of Sambor, on behalf of the Jews of Sambor protest against the land seniors of Przemyśl Moszko Szmujłowicz, the rabbi of Jarosław, Lewko Szlamowicz, the rabbi of Przeworsk and Major Zelmanowicz the rabbi of Dobromil. The protesters appeared at the rabbi of Przemysl on the previously arranged date (21st August) in th case concerning the Jewish tax. However, the first two land seniors left the town hastily, and the third one did not turn up at all. Moreover, the Sambor Jews protest against the contributions required from them being demanded in an amount impossible to pay, despite the fact that the seniors were informed that Hejsyk had sold only 8 barrels of wine.
