Settlement between the land elders of Chełm and the kahal in Sokal concerning the Jewish poll tax

The land elders of Chełm conclude a settlement on the Jewish poll tax with the kahal of Sokal due to its destruction in the fire, and also because of the universal by King August III ordering the exemption of Sokal from paying the tax and also due to the intervention by the Voivode of Sandomierz, Jan Tarło. The Kahal of Sokal is to pay 690 złp for six years. These sums are to be distributed between the villages under the kahal jurisdiction. The settlement was approved by the Marshall of the Crown Jews, Heszel.
