Lawsuit to the Radom tribunal against the land elders of Lublin concerning the excessive poll tax levied on the Jews from Bełżyce

Stefan Gałęzowski, a son of the Castellan of Lublin and the heir of the property of Bełżyce, together with the elders of Bełżyce: Lewek Mendlowicz, Marek Lejbusiowicz, and Hercyk Berkowicz sue the land elders of the province of Lublin: Józef Sandrowicz [a rabbi from Opole], Zelik Fiszlowicz, Jakub Abramowicz [a rabbi from Zwoleń] and Lewko Szmulowicz to the tax tribunal in Radom concerning the excessive poll tax levied on the Jews from Bełżyce, and also poll tax imposed on a leaseholder in the Starost of Kazimierz from the village of Bochotnica Kościelna (a particular of the kahal in Bełżyce) without the consent or knowledge of the heir (Gałęzowski). The plaintiffs demand reduction of the tax share for the kahal in Bełżyce and reimbursement of the money taken for the hiberna from Bochotnica.
