The elders of the Ruthenian voivodeship concluded a contract for wyderkauf with Józef Ossoliński, the Crown court standard-bearer and the starost of Sandomierz, for the sum of 20,000 zlotys from which the annual commission was to amount to 10% to be paid by Lesko kahal.This amount was to be added to the sum of the Jewish poll tax. However, considering its impoverishment and settlements with the community in Baligród,the elders of the voivodeship reduced the amount of tax for Lesko Jews to 400 zlotys and for Baligród Jews to 250 zlotys. After 15 years, the kahal in Lesko was obliged to pay 2,300 zlotys annually, and Baligród 100 zlotys of tax. In return, the authority of the Lesko community over its villages was confirmed, along with the community’s right to fill the office of one of the Ruthenian land elders and to participate in land congresses.
